The day when i finished my masters

It has been over a week now, and i am struggling with the so called " nothing to do" phenomenon.
I have finished my masters, and i have loads of things to keep myself busy. But why is it that i feel unconnected, why is that i feel i am on a lonely island. Why is it that i feel i am moving closer to my fear.
I don't have answers to these questions. Why did they arise in my mind ? Could be a number of reasons, finishing my masters gives me ample to look for a job, applying for jobs is the most treacherous thing on planet earth.
I am indeed longing for a break. And i feel my creativity is diminishing in some or the other way. Is it bothering. A hundred time "yes".
I am making foolish efforts to keep it alive.
I cant believe over the past few months i have tried umpteen amounts of new things on the web.
a) blogging
b) editing pictures
c) studying australian education pattern
d) t-shirts
e) now calenders !!

well i have come a long way.. but i am looking for a break.. a big one.. and its surprising though, with the death of my laptop, my photographs, my designs and my writings have all been arrested and locked up in my inaccessible hard drive and the fear of losing them, kills me.

This psychological battle has left me with zero ideas of blogging, and zero ideas of building websites and what not ..

I have also stopped playing farmville, and mafia wars..
which now leaves me with nothing to do..
And i am nothing but devils workshop at this moment.

When i saw you, I knew this darling, That love is very crazy O darling,

Guess the Hindi song which has been translated into English below:

When i saw you, I knew this darling,

That love is very crazy O darling,
When i saw you, I knew this darling,
When i saw you, I knew this darling,
That love is very crazy O darling,
Now where do i go from here
I will die in yours arms O dear.
When i saw you, I knew this darling,
That love is very crazy O darling,
Now where do i go from here
When i saw you, I knew this darling,
That love is very crazy O darling.

Let the eyes be mine, dream be yours
Let the heart be mine, thoughts be yours
Nothing is mine, everything is yours
Life is yours, every breath is yours
Your tears seem to roll out from my eyes
Sadness seem to smile
When i saw you, I knew this darling,
That love is very crazy O darling,
Now where do i go from here
I will die in yours arms O dear.
When i saw you, I knew this darling.

My heart doesn't seem to adjust anywhere
What shall i say, What shall i do ?
You just sit in front of me
I shall keep looking at you
You called for me, and see, i have come
Is there a bigger promise than love?
When i saw you, I knew this darling,
That love is very crazy O darling,
Now where do i go from here
I will die in yours arms O dear.
When i saw you, I knew this darling,

How well can you write a dumb poem!

Here comes one dumb poem!

A bird named dewy
dewy dewy,
came from a land called"Flying"
flewy flewy,
sat on a branch called "Brewy"
brewy brewy,
looked around
round and round,
yelled out to chewy
chewy chewy
chewy came from the land "Flying"
flewy flewy,
sat on the branch
brewy brewy,
looked around
round and round,
saw its love dewy
dewy dewy
and both lived "ever after"
happily happily.

What Facebook can do !!

F -funny
A -adorable
C -chat stricken
E -elegant
B -boring
O -on my nerve
O -on my desktop 24/7
K -killing my precious sleep time

So it has been facebook, an application to which i have been glued to me for quite sometime. I am amazed at what this new application system has done to me. I am always playing games! It is surprising though, but these games are not just addictive but extremely contagious. The names of these two atrocious games are as follows:

MAFIA WARS
FARMVILLE

My friends have been literally cursing me for the same. I dont usually have special posts on the wall of facebook. It is usually the achievments i have accumulated over the last few weeks in games, piling up on the wall. It is a pity, but i have no choice, i have been trying to restrict myself from playing, but it has been of no help!!
This very moment i am at my lab, writing this piece of article on to my blog and hoping to find a soul who shares the same story.
Among you guys is there anyone who share a similar story ?
I dont watch movies, read books, or listen to music on the laptop. My food comes to me, but i usually dont remember what i am chewing on to ! I am off to sleep late in the night, but at the same time, i dream of Mafias, and collecting milk from the cows. I am all the time harvesting, ploughing and sowing seeds on farmville. On the otherhand, i am looting sincere fools, and robbing pimps, attacking and earning a lot of virtual money.
I have no idea till when this is going to go on and on with me! But for sure this is one thing which has kept me busy for a while this semseter in australia !

Books or its Movies - Which one you think is better ?

Suddenly I have realized that i have lost my love for reading somewhere. It has been sometime since i actually held a book in hand.

The last book that i tried to read was in the month of January and it was TWILIGHT. I just could not manage to read more than 25 pages of the book and feel really sorry for myself.

The books that i enjoyed the most in the past were :

DAN BROWN series.

I simply loved all the books
Digital Fotress
Angels and Demons
Deception Point
The Da Vinci Code

However it is come into my knowledge that Dan Brown would is about to complete another novel " THE LOST SYMBOL"
which is based on the Solomon key. Sounds interesting to me. However this book again would have rituals and practices and beliefs in regards to self harm and harm to others. Well desperately waiting for the 15th of September 2009 when this book is expected for release.

What is your reaction to making movies that are inspired from books?
I think they are wonderful, until and unless they are made in the right spirit.
As a spectator i love these kind of movies only when i have not read the books.
That is, as a reader i hate these movies.

The Da Vinci Code, was a good movie, but dark and i think somewhere down the line, the movie makers have not made justice to the book.

On the other hand i loved the Harry Potter series, though i have not read a single book from the series.
I love the characters and the plot.

I think my opinion would change once i read the book. As most of my friends who have read the book and watched the movie find that the book was a thousand times better and the movie could no where match it.

But for a person like me reading all the books from the series would be monotonous at this time, especially keeping all the work and study in mind. So i would go for a movie, than the book.

What is your take on such issues ??

Rainbow

I remember the day very well,
It was the 15th of February 2008.
I was traveling to a new land,
To a strange new place.
I was on a voyage to Brisbane,
For the first time ever.
It was cloudy above,
It was deep sea below,
All misty, all green, full of ripples
As if heaven was just some feet beneath.
There amidst the clouds,
Danced one gigantic scoop of a cloud fully saturated,
And as if a needle like wind struck it mischievously
And it burst to release drops of rain.
The glory of nature was to behold,
Showers of blessings on me.
And there reached a ray of sun from above
To create a marvel with VIBGYOR
I felt as though I was on a date with a rainbow,
So close yet so far,
So magnificent yet so elegant,
I shall never forget the day,
I shall never forget the moment,
That blessed me before I landed,
On the sands on a new strange land,
- Australia

Stretch of Brisbane close to my heart – Shops on focus

It is one short stretch of street, which has the NSW bank on its right and the coffee club on its left. Let me begin with the shops that I love the most on this small stretch.

There is a Subway restaurant two shops away from the coffee club where I usually dine alone. I just love the veggie delight on oregano bread, toasted with all the salads, extra jalapenos and extra olives, with mayonnaise and south west sauces. As I write my mouth is watering and hopes to have some of the same today. It is cheap and filling. Hence it is a must on the day I go shopping on the queen’s street mall.

Once stomach full, I make an entry to the Elle world opposite to subway. There is this range of cheap set of trendy clothes from china. They are worth the money and look trendy as well. I spend hours there and decide on nothing and move to Ally next door, which is slightly higher on its prices but has a good range of clothing. I find nothing there and I move to the Valley girl two shops away from Subway. So it is this triangle that keeps me busy round the clock. So many times I have gone back to Elle world and back to Valley girl, and still not bought anything.

Valley girl is one place where I have not bought any clothes as yet, but would buy soon. There is one thing that I noticed that with seasons the cloth range changes and there is sale on the previous season. So it is better to by summer clothes in winter and vice versa as they would cheap.

In Australia there is a SALE as in a DISCOUNT SALE round the clock, 365 days in a year. So it’s like the New Year’s sale in January, February the Mid season/ Easter sale in March and April. Well I would have to wait for May and June and the others to let you know what sale it would be. At the moment in fashion is Boots, scarves, cardigans shorts, leggings and huge belts. All of which I are on my shopping list.

Stretch of Brisbane close to my heart – Its timings don’t suit me

You can see a zillion different faces, a zillion different thoughts and hundreds of trends. It is just this one stretch of street in Brisbane called the Queens Street, where all the “hungama” of the city takes place.

You will find restaurants, pubs, discs, shops and even chemists on this street. Surprisingly all of them except the restaurants close by 5pm in the evening. I don’t get the logic at all. In India all the shops and the malls are open until 9pm and sometimes 10 -11 as well. Here the offices shut down by 5pm as well. I mean the point is, even in India it is a 9 -5pm job, yet people tend work overtime, or spend time travelling and only then reach home by 8pm or 9pm or even later. It is just the opposite here. Office goers reach home by 6pm, they have supper by 7pm and they are off to bed by 8pm. Why so early? I don’t know the answer. But I do know that they wake up very early. It could be as early as 4am or 5 am. They go jogging or spend time on household chores and attend to kids. Especially the gentlemen have to drop kids to school and then reach office by 9am.

So all I wanted to tell you is that Australians lead a very ROUTINE life during the WEEK and have a blast in the WEEKEND. May be that is why the shops are open until 9pm on Fridays on the Queen street.

Well I am not a shopaholic. But I do hunt for stuffs that I want to buy, it’s after a long search and depending on the worth of money I tend to buy the stuffs I like. Most of the time it is usually the split second decisions that bring out the best in us. It’s the same with me, if I spend hours on shopping; I usually end up buying NOTHING. Well it happens with everyone.

YAWN

I have always wanted to write about "Yawn"

The English dictionary defines it as "to open the mouth wide and take a deep breath usually as an involuntary reaction to fatigue or boredom"

Well the funny definition has always been "An honest opinion openly expressed"

The medical dictionary defines it as "Involuntary opening of the mouth, often caused by suggestion. Yawning is characterized by breathing inward, then outward. Repeated yawning is often a sign of drowsiness. It may also sometimes be a sign of depression"

Blah Blah and Blah .. .. ..

Well I actually came across this belief someday that on yawing loudly there is every chance that one's soul can escape from one's body.

Hee hee !!! Sounds funny to me..

Well that's obviously not true and I am sure this belief has come up to avoid noisy and lengthy yawns.

Why is it that I am writing on "YAWN" ??

It is indeed an honest opinion of the kind of work I am currently doing at my laboratory – eagerly waiting for results.

Well in the mean time, in order to avoid yawns in front of my supervisor I have this wonderful opportunity to write on it.

I have come across a zillion people with a zillion different ways of yawning.

There is this category of people who yawn out loudly, so loudly that he or she can wake up a sleeping neighbour.

It must be so irritating for teachers to see kids yawing in the middle of the physics class. To be frank, I was one such kid. I used to have my physics class every day after lunch break. My mom made sure she packed heavy lunch for me and I could never ever make an honest attempt to stay awake, especially after having curd rice for lunch at 1pm in the afternoon. I can still remember the plight of my teachers. Well this used to be the case with almost every other student. It used to be only first bench students who would nearly stay awake. Surprisingly after the class there is no yawning, no drowsiness and no sleep. Hee hee hee

Yawn can be s contagious. There are times when I have yawned when a person on the other end of the telephone line has yawned. Even more stupid when there is someone yawning in the television. Well all these could have been coincidental. However it is funny, that have the capacity to yawn continuously for more that 10 – 15mins until I drop dead on my bed. Tears roll down uncontrollably and I just can't stay awake even for a second.

I still remember in my degree class, even if one student yawn the whole class would yawn, one after the other.

Surprisingly I did yawn as I was writing this.. (An honest opinion of what I have been writing.. hee hee ) I know this is a boring topic. But it indeed is my best time pass.

Well what other incidents do I remember on yawn? I wonder how team leaders react to yawning at a team meeting. I wonder how an executive can stay awake for hours during a presentation. I wonder how can, one control his or her yawn during mediation. I bet I can't. Frankly I can never mediate without going off to sleep. LOL hee hee

Well I did come across certain interesting facts about yawning that I would like to share with you here.

Interesting Yawning Facts

  • The average yawn lasts about six seconds.

I wonder if there is anyone who has done it for more than 6 seconds. I would like to time my yawn the next time.

  • Your heart rate can rise as much as 30 percent during a yawn.

Woah, so if one suppresses the yawn it could be dangerous.

  • 55 percent of people will yawn within five minutes of seeing someone else yawn.

A chain reaction - Why can't we have yawn chains just like human chains? Wouldn't that be interesting.

  • Blind people yawn more after hearing an audio tape of people yawning.

That is but obvious. So it is not coincidental that one can create a chain reaction of yawn over the telephone.

  • Reading about yawning will make you yawn.

Did you guys yawn on reading this piece of article?

Do let me know about the same.

LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST

Someone once asked me ..

Which is the most memorable moment of your life..

And i said something that actually perplexed the person...

What is it for you???
Think for a while... !!!

is it the moment you met someone special ??
or is it the moment you won something..??
is it the moment when your dream came true??
or is it the moment when you were on a trip and you felt happy as you could relate to nature ??

It so happens that we tend to relate to the happy moments in our life and take it to be the most pleasurable moment.

But that way there would be a hundred moments..
Just as in bluff master Boman Irani tells Abhishek that think of all the happy moments in your life and count how many days you get to live and relive those moments..

The same way if we add up the happy moments it might come up to a month or two.. not more than that ofcourse..

But does everyone remember the moment when he or she was born ??
does everyone remember the moment when he was just out into planet earth..
does everyone remember the first breath?
Can everyone really feel the woosh of the air the moment they were born.
Can everyone hear the first cry ?
Can everyone remember mom's love and her care....

Why cant we remember these precious moments.. ?? ??

Now that i am away from home.. i ponder on such thoughts..
Though i dont remember these moments..
I think 30th april 1986, somewhere around 4pm was the most memorable moment of my lifetime only because i was born at that moment.

It is that moment which is the moment of truth. It is that moment which makes you believe in what you were yesterday, what you are today and what you will be tomorrow.

IF AT ALL IT WAS NOT FOR THAT MOMENT, THEN THERE WOULD BE NO YESTERDAY OR TODAY OR TOMORROW.

Though strange but true..

As i am writing i am a little confused about what i have expressed, but strangely i feel it is right. And that though one does not remember the moment when he or she was " 1 sec" old, it indeed is the best moment on the planet earth.

And that is the reason why there is a day specially meant to celebrate that precious moment - BIRTHDAY.

Can this get any better ?

AUSTRALIAN SLANG

I was, I am and I will forever be flabbergasted with Aussie slangs,

They either eat up the english words, or recreate a new meaning out of it, and even worse convert a small english word into a long sentence..

Aussie slang isnt difficult. It is pretty simple if you can use the suffix "-ie" intelligently. Well i really don't understand the necessity of intellect to do this. However, let me just give you some examples. If chocolate is chokie, barbeque is barbie, what do you think Christmas would be ???

Very simple !!

its CHRISSE....

Surprised !! Don't be :)
Wondering what a cockroach would be called.. cockie indeed !!

Well i was actually surprised to know that tomato sauce in Australia is called a dead horse!!
any connection between the two ???

abso -bloody- lutely NOT ... errrr.. i actually meant to say absolutely not.. As i had previously mentioned aussies have all the freedom to create new words out of the one's already existing in the Oxford Dictionary.

Well i actually came across a word "decko" which means a look or a glance is more like "देखो" in Hindi which means the same. How do i react to this discovery ?? - " I am wrapped" (I am extremely happy)

hoooro for now..
(goodbye for now)

Would be back with more soon.
